In the context of globalization and pluralism, traditional sovereign states agree that there is a crisis. Central to the crisis lies in the confrontation between universal values and specialism. When universal values are appealed, it is difficult to guarantee the particularity of the country. And resorting to the particularity of the state may lead to the danger of extreme nationalism. Constitutional patriotism tries to defuse the crisis of national identity, however, because of its inability to undertake this task based on the contract theory and the specific constitutional concept. This article seeks to revive the Confucian tradition filial piety as a special form of political loyalty, it can not only from the universality but also from the particularity of two dimensions to complete the construction of the post-national identity. The principle of “filial piety” is not a kind of local knowledge based on Confucian culture. In this paper, the principle of “filial piety ” is defended as a universal principle of existence of political body.
