著名结核病防治专家、中国防痨协会第三届理事会理事、第四届理事会常务理事、中国防痨杂志副总编辑(1963年)朱宗尧同志因病医治无效,于1998年8月31日逝世,终年86岁。朱宗尧同志毕生从事防痨工作,1952年任天津市第一结核病防治院院长,1955年组建天津市结核病防治所并兼任所长。十年浩劫中天津市防痨系统遭到破坏,1972年他重新组建天津市结核病防治院(现天津市肺科医院)任院长,并兼任结核病防治所所长,逝世前担任天津市肺科医院名誉院长。朱宗尧同志支持并参与中国防痨协会与中华医学会结核病科学会工作,并曾担任天津市防痨协会理事长。对我国防痨事业,特别是天津市防痨事业做出了贡献。

Comrade Zhu Zongyao supported and participated in the Chinese Antitubercile Association and the Chinese Medical Association Tuberculosis Association, and served as Tianjin Anti-tuberculosis Association. We have made our contribution to our anti-tuberculosis business, especially to Tianjin’s anti-tuberculosis business.
