本文首先肯定了李约瑟博士所著的《中国科学与文明史》第三卷地质学部分在中国地质学史研究方面有开创之功。认为该书是一部比较科学的文明史,它把中国各个历史时期科学技术的发展和创造放到全世界(特别是欧洲)的背景中加以比较研究。同时,本文还指出,由于中西文献中没有这方面的专题论著,作者对中国的古文献又涉猎不广,因而造成了某些失误和误从。
This article first affirmed the pioneering work of the third part of the history of geology in the history of geology in Chinese History of Science and Civilization by Dr. Needham. The book is a comparatively scientific history of civilization, which compares the development and creation of science and technology in various historical periods in China to the context of the world (especially Europe). At the same time, this article also points out that because there is no monograph on this topic in Chinese and Western literature, the author does not extensively study ancient Chinese literature, resulting in some mistakes and mistakes.
