长篇小说《李自成》的文体实践为探讨持续的历史书写与不断填补的小说文本间的裂隙、弥合及创作主体在真实与虚构问题上的处理方式提供了范本,提示了历史真实与历史想象的内在分别,这无疑是对中国小说写史传统的承续。尽管它体现为两难中的持续历史书写,但作家的文体意识与长篇小说的文体自律性为“生长出中国的小说艺术”提供了可能。
