A difficult but successful survival Guangdong province is universally acknowledged to be the forefront of the country’s reform and opening up.Since 1978,GDP in Guangdong has increased by an average of 13.45 percent,3.5 percentage points higher than the nation’s average.The import and export value of Guangdong makes up one-third of national total value,and accounts for one-eighth of national economic growth.Guangdong Province has maintained its top spot in import and export value among China’s many provinces and cities for decades.With lasting concerted efforts over the past years,the Pearl River Delta in southern Guangdong has grown to be the country’s manufacturing and exporting center.
