乔培新同志是一位老党员,是金融界的老前辈。他于1941年到延安陕甘宁边区银行工作,在陕甘宁边区银行工作11年,主要任调查研究处长。1949年西安解放后,任中国人民银行西北区行副行长、行长,1955年后历任中国银行代总经理、总经理、董事长、名誉董事长、中国人民银行副行长、中国金融学会会长。乔老现已82岁高龄,对金融与科技的结合十分关注,特别期望金融界直接参与高科技领域的发展,在世界科技经济激烈竞争中占有一席之地,为夺取世界范围科学技术的胜利做出贡献。
