党的“十四大”科学地总结了我国改革开放和社会主义现代化建设的基本实践和基本经验,系统地论述了邓小平同志建设有中国特色社会主义的理论,是承前启后、继往开来的大会。在继续迈出新的更大的步伐的同时,回头看看过去的足迹,重新品味一下在改革探索中的艰辛与喜悦,思索一下党的十一届三中全会以来14年的丰富的经验与教训,必将使我们更坚定、更自觉、更清醒地向党的“十四大”制定的宏伟目标前进。北京是我国的首都,回顾一下北京改革开放的历程,对于了解全局,更具有典型意义。
The 14th National Congress of the Party scientifically summarizes the basic practice and basic experience of China’s reform and opening up as well as the socialist modernization drive and systematically discusses Comrade Deng Xiaoping’s theory of building socialism with Chinese characteristics. While continuing to make new and greater strides, we should look back at our past footprints and re-evaluate the hardships and joy in the reform and exploration. Considering the fourteen-year rich experience we have gained since the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee Lessons will surely enable us to make progress toward the grand goal set by the party’s “big four” more firmly, more consciously and more clearly. Beijing is the capital of our country. Recalling the course of Beijing’s reform and opening up, it is more typical for us to understand the overall situation.
