上海浦东新区管理委员会副主任黄奇帆应邀作为高级观察员,出席了1993年10月在沪召开的第20届世界青年领袖会议(有关会议报道,可参阅本刊1993年第11期图片新闻),期间向来自全球的青年精英详细介绍了上海浦东开发开放的实际进程。黄奇帆长期参加浦东开发的规划、筹备、建设等工作,因而谈起来如数家珍。各国代表中有相当一部分的人是第一次来中国大陆,对闻名遐迩但以前又无缘一见的浦东有着极其浓厚的兴趣,听得津津有味,并提出了很多有意思的问题。黄奇帆指出,开发开放浦东是中国党和政府在世纪之交的一项战略性决策。它不仅对于振兴上海经济,带动长江流域经济起飞.而且对于整个中国的经济现代化都有着十分重要的意义。
Huang Qifan, deputy director of Shanghai Pudong New Area Administration Committee, was invited as senior observer to attend the 20th World Youth Leadership Conference held in Shanghai in October 1993 (for the coverage of the conference, see the press photo of Issue 11, 1993) The young elites from all over the world introduced in detail the actual process of Shanghai Pudong development and opening up. Huang Qifan long-term participation in the planning, preparation, construction and other work in Pudong, so talk about it. A considerable part of the delegates of all countries came to mainland China for the first time. They have a keen interest in Pudong, a famous and far-sighted but previously unseen place, enjoying relish and asking many interesting questions. Huang Qifan pointed out that the development and opening up of Pudong is a strategic decision made by the Chinese party and government at the turn of the century. It is not only vital to rejuvenating Shanghai’s economy and bringing about the economic take-off of the Yangtze River basin, but also for the entire Chinese economy.
