在大学设立编辑学专业已有十多年时间了。十多年来,出版了不少编辑学教材,而1996年8月由中国科学技术大学出版社出版的司有和同志编著的《科技编辑学通论》(以下简称《通论》)是其中较好的一本,值得推荐。 我觉得,《通论》作为大学编辑学专业教材其新颖、独到之处及优于其他某些教材处很多,最突出的有以下四条: 一、体系特征明显 《通论》全书共分6章,依次为“绪论”、“编辑过程论”、“装帧艺术论”、“载体特征论”、“编辑管理论”、“编者素养论”,课程知识体系脉络清晰,涵盖内容全面完整。 《通论》的后记说:“六年多来,我一直在思考,在书、报、刊乃至非纸出版物的编辑工作中有着共同的规律,可以建立共同的理论体系。如同普通物理学、普通生物学一样,这个理论体系应该称之谓“普通编辑学”。本书就是这一构想的尝试。” 为此,《通论》对知识体系进行了较大的调整,把不属于“通”的各类图书、期刊、报纸的编辑知识大量压缩,只在“载体特征论”中介绍《通论》中没有讲到的独有的内容。《通论》改变了过去用图书编辑过程来讲“编辑过程论”的方式,而总是从书、报、刊等全部出版物的共同的内容来讲编辑过程的每一个环节。
