2005年,申林军来到农六师芳草湖农场老生地社区5连担任连长。上任伊始,他和该连党支部书记杨中海即向全连56名党员和职工群众郑重承诺,一定要把5连建成一个名副其实的小康连队。如今5年过去了,广大党员和职工群众的愿望终成现实。自2007年起,5连连年被农场评为先进集体和先进党支部,2009年被师命名为师级文明生态小康连队。
