“Geological fluid” refers to the complex fluid phase consisting of H 2 O, CO 2, hydrocarbons, and volatile components such as halogens, S, N and their dissolved components existing in and active in the lithosphere. One of the most active and the most important one, and plays an extremely important role in all the geological processes occurring in the Earth, the geophysical structure and mechanical properties of each circle, and the geochemical evolution. The fluid inside the earth has become the forefront topic in the field of geosciences and will be the point of growth and breakthrough in establishing a new theoretical system of geosciences. By the China National Institute of Geochemistry of rock mineral inclusions Professional Committee, Nanjing University endogenous mineralization mechanism of the State Open Laboratory, Guiyang Institute of Geochemistry Key Laboratory of Mineral Geochemistry hosted by the International Chamber of Minerals Inclusion Professional Committee, China The 13th Symposium on Geological Fluid and Fluid Inclusion Co-organized by Key Laboratory of Natural Gas Accumulation in Langfang Branch of Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute was held at Nanjing University from October 14 to October 17, 2002. A total of 71 abstracts were received from the conference. More than 120 representatives from major earth science research institutes in China, geology faculties of institutions of higher learning, and three major oil companies in China attended the conference. Overseas Chinese scholar Dr. Zhou Yiming (Geological Survey of USA), Professor Lu Huanzhang (University of Quebec, Canada), who has made great achievements in geological fluid and fluid inclusion research.
