语言是文化的载体,每一种语言都有属于自己的文化特色。文化负载词最能直接体现语言承载的文化信息,反映社会生活。中国历史文化底蕴深厚,一直以来对于中文的文化负载词的英译研究数不胜数,对英语中的文化负载词的汉译研究的却不多。本文旨在通过对常见的英语习语中文化负载词的翻译研究,来探讨适合英语文化负载词翻译的常用翻译策略。
Language is the carrier of culture, each language has its own cultural characteristics. Culturally loaded words can directly embody the cultural information carried by the language and reflect the social life. There are numerous studies on the English translation of culturally loaded words in Chinese because of the profound historical and cultural background in China. However, there are few studies on the Chinese translation of culturally loaded words in English. The purpose of this paper is to explore the common translation strategies suitable for the translation of English culturally loaded words through the study of the translation of culturally loaded words in common English idioms.
