现代数学教学把发展学生的思维提到了首要地位,这是与传统数学教学的最大区别。小学生的思维主要依赖于动作、形象思维、抽象思维,因而,教师应从直观、形象化教学入手,调动学生的多种感官参与学习,多动手操作、多用眼观察、多动脑思考,逐步发展形象思维和抽象思维,使两种思维能力得到和谐发展。因此,培养小学生的形象思维能力是小学数学教学的一项重要任务。
