万安水电站位于江西省赣江河道狭谷的下口,万安县城以上约2公里处。坝区河道微弯顺直.枯水期水面宽约450米,水深2～5米,河床高程一般为65～69米。右岸有宽约400～450米台地。右河床为深水河槽,覆盖层厚1～2米;左河床为枯水边滩,覆盖层厚增至2～5米。河床覆盖层主要由渗透系数在200米/昼夜以上的砾质粗砂组成,允许冲刷流速仅0.7米/秒。坝址基岩属侏罗系地层的浅变质砂岩和砂质页岩。河床中部除局部断层破碎带外,大多为微新岩石,岩面高程62～66米,允许抗冲流速6米/秒。
Wan’an Hydropower Station is located in the lower reaches of the Gulch River valley in Jiangxi Province, about 2 kilometers above Wanan County. The dam area is slightly curved and straight, with a water surface of 450 meters in width and 2 to 5 meters in depth during the dry season. The river bed elevation is generally 65-69 meters. Right bank has a width of about 400 to 450 meters platform. The right riverbed is a deep-water river channel with a thickness of 1 to 2 meters. The left riverbed is a dry-water beach and its cover thickness is increased to 2 to 5 meters. The bed cover is composed mainly of gravel grit with a permeability coefficient of 200 m / day and above, allowing a scouring flow rate of only 0.7 m / s. The bedrock of the dam site is of super-metamorphic sandstone and sandy shale in the Jurassic strata.
