中国戏曲研究院主编、陶君超同志编著的《京剧剧目初探》一书,先后出过两版。作者在《增订本前记》中说:“嗣又以客观需要,认为本书对于资料之搜集论列尚无大谬,如能先行修订,或仍可有助于剧目研究之参考,……”这本书是不是被公认为“尚无大谬”,“有助于剧目研究之参考”呢?事实并非如此。王向东同志的《略谈怎样估价戏曲遗产》一文(见1963年11月6日《光明日报》),已经就这本书《引言》中过高估价京剧遗产的论点提出了批评。批评是正确的。我们认为,这本书无论对京剧遗产的估价,或者在“资料之搜集论列”上,都存在着根本性的错误,而且起了很坏的社会作用,有必要对它做更全面、更深入的批判。
China Opera Academy editor, Comrade Tao Junchao’s “Peking Opera Repertoire,” a book, has been out of two editions. Comrade Wang Xiangdong’s article ”How to Appraise the Legacy of the Opera“ (Guangming Daily, November 6, 1963) has already criticized the argument that the book’s ”Introduction" overestimates the Peking Opera’s legacy. Criticism is correct. We think this book has a fundamental mistake both in the valuation of the Peking Opera heritage and in the Collected Information on Collected Works and has played a very bad social role. It is necessary to make it more comprehensive and in-depth Deep criticism.
