“星”者,宇宙间闪烁发光的天体也。根据亮度的强弱,又可划分出“星等”。当以星喻人成为一时之尚,满天流星稍纵即逝的时候,一些高星等的发光体却恒久地长存于天宇。在二十世纪即将结束的时候,中国文联曾对全国范围内参差不齐的文艺之星进行了一次划分星等的选拔,其中具有跨世纪深厚功力的十位中青年,被赋予了“世纪之星”的最高星等。本文主人公吴学华,便是这十颗恒久耀眼的“世纪之星”之一。同时被评上的还有著名京剧演员李维康、著名电影演员潘虹等。
