The economic crisis of the 1930s exerted a heavy blow on Japan. The economic panic and social conflicts in Japan were serious. It is imperative for Japan to expand its foreign markets to solve the domestic dilemma. In the summer of 1934, the price of silver in the world was greatly raised. As a result, there was a huge outflow of silver in our country. As a result, a serious silver currency crisis broke out in China and the Chinese economy was in a huge dilemma. In order to expand Japan’s economic invasion of China and weaken the ability of the national government to adjust its currency and finance, Japan uses extraterritorial powers to smuggle huge amounts of silver from China and to sell them to international markets. Japan’s bank-shipping aggravated the plight of a serious loss of silver money in China and forced the Nanjing National Government to push for the abolition of the silver-based monetary reform in 1935.
