气体密度天平是近年来气相色谱法中采用的检测器之一。它的主要特征就是:在线性动力学范围内,它的响应值只与气体密度有关,因而它的响应值和分子量间的关系,能够予先计算,而且准确性好,线性范围较宽,并能用来测定腐蚀性的气体,如卤素、卤化氢、硫化氢等。由于它的结构比较复杂,加工不易等缺点,一度没有得到广泛应用。但随着结构的改进,逐步克服了上述缺点,在近代色谱法中已作为一种标准检测器来使用了。
