花鸟画怎样出新,这比探讨人物、山水画的出新要复杂得多。人物画仅从服饰,道具就可以看出时代的不同,山水画中的新建筑也可以表达时代的不同,而花鸟画就不具备这些条件。两千年前开放的牡丹花,与今天开放的牡丹花表现在画面上究竟有那些不同,怎样才能体现出时代的特征呢?回忆我初到江苏画院跟钱松岩老师学画山水时,钱老认为山水画体现时代精神这条路子已经摸到一些了,至于花鸟画如何出新,反映时代精神,还没有很好解决。从那时起,自己就很有兴趣在这方面进行探求。我国的花鸟画有很悠久的历史,仅从唐宋算起到目前也有了一千多年。在传统的花鸟画作品中,我们可以看到画家不同的个性和他们所处时代的不同。唐人边鸾的花鸟“精于设
