The new outline of primary school Chinese teaching and the newly promulgated “Chinese Curriculum Standard” all changed “obedient speech” into “oral communicative.” This new formulation has drawn great attention from the primary school language community. So, what is the special meaning of competition? In response to this question and in accordance with the requirements of the general public, Mr. Chen Chunyan, a teacher in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, is invited to talk about his own views.
