1996年5月11日至12日,中共中央政治局委员、国务院副总理李岚清在国家教委、湖南省、岳阳市党政领导同志陪同下,对岳阳基础教育工作进行了考察。李副总理一行先后来到汩罗和岳阳市区,深入到城镇乡村中小学,了解教育教学改革和学校建设与教育条件、环境情况,并在汩罗市新市镇中心小学、汩罗市一中、岳阳市一中,深入课堂听课,与孩子们亲切交谈,询问了解孩子们学习情况。
From May 11 to 12, 1996, Li Lanqing, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, accompanied by Party and government leaders of the State Education Commission, Hunan Province and Yueyang City, made an inspection of the basic education in Yueyang. Vice Premier Li Yuan and his delegation came to the urban areas of Miluo and Yueyang, and went to urban and rural primary and secondary schools to learn about education and teaching reform, school construction and educational conditions, and environmental conditions. They were also in the New Town Central Primary School in Miluo City and Miluo City.
