此次广汽以合资形式布局商用车领域,可谓是业内瞩目。瞩目的不仅仅是广汽与日野合资合作的内容本身,更多的是对其进军商用车产业的意义探讨。关于此次合资对于广汽集团的积极意义,已有很多文章见诸报端,笔者在此只强调一点,就是它补上了广汽商用车“木桶”的短板。客观来说,广汽原来也是一直有商用车下属企业和产品的,而且除了重卡外,基本都全了,从轻卡、轻客到大中型客车。一应俱全。只不过跟东风汽车集团和一汽集团不同的是,广州汽车集团旗下的商用车企业要么半死不活,要么偏安一隅,看不出任何发展的潜力,这与上汽集团在商用车领域连续作出几个大动作之前的境况有些相似——两大地方汽车集团都存在短板,也都希望在这块巨大领域中有所作为。
