主位是系统功能语法的重要概念,最早由布拉格学派奠基人马泰休斯提出。之后,英国著名语言学家韩礼德在《系统功能语法中》指出,从功能角度看,任何语篇都可以分为两部分:主位和述位。本文以韩礼德的系统功能语法理论为基础,从三大纯理论功能之一语篇功能的主位出发,以肯尼迪的总统就职演说辞为例分析其主位结构,论证主述位分析及主位推进模式在演说中的作用,从而证明主位结构分析在语篇分析中的可操作性和实用性。
Theme is an important concept of the system function grammar, first proposed by the founder of the school of Matthias Hughes of Prague. After that, Halliday, a famous English linguist, pointed out in his book “Systemic Functional Grammar” that any discourse can be divided into two parts from the perspective of function: the theme and the quote. Based on Halliday’s grammatical theory of functional grammar, this dissertation starts with the theme of discourse function of one of the three purely theoretical functions, and analyzes the thematic structure of the President’s speech in the presence of Kennedy as an example. Promote the role of mode in the speech to prove the thematic structure analysis in text analysis of the operability and practicality.
