江泽民同志在庆祝中国共产党成立 80周年大会上的讲话 ,在深刻总结党的八十年历史经验的基础上 ,系统论述了“三个代表”的重要思想 ,并且进一步强调要以改革的精神全面加强和改进党的建设。“三个代表”思想的提出 ,解决了中国共产党跨世纪的难题。江泽民同志的《讲话》,按照“三个代表”的战略思路 ,分别在各方面提出了加强和改进党的建设的任务、原则。新时期加强和改进党的建设 ,必须以改革创新的精神研究党的建设面临的各种实际问题 ,把“三个代表”重要思想贯彻到党的建设的各项实际工作中去
