今年6月,胡锦涛总书记视察湖北时,再次要求我们加快构建促进中部地区崛起的重要战略支点,这是党中央和总书记从国家战略层面对湖北经济社会发展的科学定位,是对我们的信任和重托,更是湖北的历史性机遇。我们要紧紧抓住国家促进中部地区崛起的宝贵机遇,把构建战略支点作为湖北经济社会发展的总目标、总任务,以战略支点的构建为旗帜,统领全省经济社会发展。
