曹禺剧作在南洋各国的传播最早可以追溯到1937年,当时南洋话剧以抗日救亡为指归,忽视了话剧艺术表达的内在规律,使作品流于概念化和形式化,而曹禺剧作的传播在一定程度上提高了南洋话剧的艺术水平和演出水准,并开创了南洋多幕剧发展的先河。此后,不管时局如何变动,一直到今天,曹禺剧作仍然以其关注社会、关注人生的现实主义精神对南洋剧坛发生着深远而广泛的影响。
The spread of Cao Yu’s plays in the Nanyang countries can be traced back to 1937 at the earliest, when the Nanyang drama was directed by the anti-Japanese national salvation, ignoring the inherent laws of drama art expression and making the works conceptualized and formalized, while the dramas of Cao Yu To a certain extent, improved the artistic level and performances of the Nanyang drama and set a precedent for the development of Nanyang drama. Since then, no matter how the current situation changes, until now, Cao Yu’s plays still exert far-reaching and extensive influence on the Nanyang theatrical scene with his social concern and life-oriented realism.
