一九三五年“一二九”运动后,陶行知先生在政治上进一步靠拢党,接受党的领导,积极参加民族民主革命运动,跟着共产党奋斗不息,直至一九四六年七月二十五日心脏停止跳动。这十年间,陶先生成了坚强的民主战士,我党亲密的朋友,正如周恩来同志所说:“十年来,陶先生一直跟着毛泽东同志为代表的党的正确路线走,是一个无保留追随党的党外布尔什维克。”(见《周恩来选集》上卷:《对进步朋友应多加关照》)
