The major biological factors that affect the radioresistance of tumors and normal tissues have been demonstrated to repair sub-lethal and potentially lethal damage during radiotherapy, repopulation of residual cells, re-recruitment and redistribution of the cell cycle. The authors from 1976.1 ~ 1981.12 of unresectable advanced (III, IV) head and neck squamous cell carcinoma in 178 cases, using low-dose and multiple-fraction fast radiation therapy (ultra-fractionation method). The first group of 91 cases were performed according to the following procedure: 5 days in the first week, 8 times a day, 0.9 Gy each time, 2 hours each time.
