速生榆是山东省林科院在200多个榆树品种对比试验的基础上,筛选出的速生、抗盐能力更强的白榆新品种。该品种具有生长速度快、耐盐碱、抗性强、适用范围广等特点。普通白榆一年生实生苗生长高度仅1.5m左右,而速生榆苗一年生长高度可达4m左右。种植速生榆丰产林,年胸径生长量可达3.5cm以上,6年生胸径平均为22cm,最高可达28cm。一般滨海地区最耐盐碱的乔木树种为白蜡,耐盐碱可达4.5‰,而速生榆耐盐碱达5‰~6‰,土壤pH值8~9。
Fast growing elm is a new breed of elm species with quick-growing and salt-resistant ability screened out by Shandong Academy of Forestry in more than 200 varieties of elm varieties. The varieties have fast growth, resistance to salt and alkali, resistance, wide range of applications and so on. The annual growth rate of common white elm seedlings is only about 1.5m, while that of fast growing elm seedlings is about 4m in one year. Planting fast-growing Yufeng yield forest, the diameter growth of breast diameter up to 3.5cm above, 6-year average diameter of 22cm, up to 28cm. The most salt-tolerant tree species in the coastal area is white wax, with salinity up to 4.5 ‰, and fast-growing elm with saline-alkali up to 5 ‰ to 6 ‰ and soil pH ranging from 8 to 9.
