兴国县地处江西省中南部,由于历史和自然条件等多方因素的制约,兴国的经济发展一度比较缓慢,群众生活相当贫困,80年代初农民人均纯收入只有304元,是典型的老区贫困县。自1994年兴国被列为国家“八七”扶贫攻坚重点县以来,我们倾情贫困山乡,举全县之力,立足实际,拓展扶贫工作思路,以改善农村生产、生活条件为基础,以科技扶贫为手段,培植支柱产业,增强造血功能。从1994年到2000年7年间,全县共投入扶贫资金16104万元,安排项目共计1570余个,扶贫开发工作取得了阶段性成果,全县贫困面貌得到了明显改善。据统计,全县在册贫困人口由1993年底的20.2万人下降到2000年底的1.8万人。贫困户人均纯收
