1989年11月,中国社会科学院考古研究所四川工作队在北川县文化馆收藏的一堆化石中,发现了一枚人牙化石。 这批化石材料出自北川县甘溪乡金宝村,这里是涪江支流平通河谷地,附近石灰岩山洞很多,河畔山坡上有黄土堆积,当地经常发现化石。这批材料已脱离原生层位,但系一次采集所获,估计应是同一地点共存的。 化石材料皆已有较深石化程度,多呈黄色或黄白色,因放置时间太长,保管不善,其中多数已残。选送的部分标本由本所有关专家初步加以鉴定。其中哺乳动物牙齿化石若干枚,计有鹿、牛、
In November 1989, a team of fossil fossils were found in a pile of fossils that the Sichuan team of the Institute of Archeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences collected in the Beichuan County Cultural Center.
