在大震前后听到犹如闷雷、滚石、击鼓声似的地声已屡有记载,于是作为寻求地震预报方法的一种探索,地声的观测研究引起了人们的兴趣。另一方面国内外一些同行们进行过或正在进行着一些关于极微震的观测研究,从国内以往的地声记录看来,其中有相当宁部分就是极微震。目前地震观测系统所观测的一般是频率低于20赫的信息,这些信息通常是地震事件或人工爆破事件,于是无论是按照声频的定义或是地震观测的惯例,都可以把频率高于20赫的地振动事件称之为地声。极微震也可以看作是一种低频地声,它的主频率一般在20至60赫,相应地也可以称主频在60赫至300赫之间的为中频地声,高于300
