南京大学李开教授治学求实,思维邃密,余于其近著《戴震语文学研究》一书中见之.戴氏为清代朴学大师,乾嘉学派开山祖,又为博闻强记、著作多门的通儒.其哲学思想,为人羡称;其天文、数学、历史、地理考证,富有新解;其经、史、小学、名物、训诂诸作,尤多重要贡献.总其成就之大,享誉之盛,当时无出其右者.李开教授沉潜戴学,得其奥旨,先为《戴震评传》,获有佳评,继此而作《语文学研究》,显其身手.余循览其书,分为注释学、文字学、音韵学三类,若网在纲,有条而不紊.其述作经过,作者在《自序》中言之详矣.章太炎先生撰《清儒》一文,于戴学尤极推崇,概括为“综形名,任裁断” 六字,余阅李君此书而益信.戴氏分古韵为二十五部,自成新说.
