社会福利目标函数在新古典经济学中具有很重要的学术地位。它的科学性对于很多人来讲似乎是无可置疑的。本书从一个特殊的视角对它进行了反思。通过引入假集体和真集体这一对概念,表明:由于社会福利目标函数就其性质而言一定只能是外生事先给定的,而不可能真正由个体的自愿选择而内生地形成的,因此,其精神实质一定是反个人主义的集体主义的,操作起来就只能沦为对个体施加外生控制的工具;同通过强制手段把个体捆绑在一起的假集体一样,本质上是集体主义的社会福利目标函数在现实中实施起来一定是自我挫败(self-defeating)的。
The objective function of social welfare plays an important academic role in neoclassical economics. Its scientificness seems undoubted to many people. The book reflects it from a special perspective. By introducing the concept of fake and true collectives, it is shown that since the objective function of social welfare can only be given exogenously by its nature, it can not be endogenously formed by the individual’s voluntary choice. Therefore, its spiritual essence must be anti-individualistic collectivism, which can only be manipulated as a tool for exerting exogenous control over the individual. Like a fake collective that binds individuals through coercive means, it is essentially collectivism The objective function of social welfare in reality must be self-defeating.
