5月14日,自治区科协组织区直和拉萨市直50余个学会、协会、研究会在拉萨市北京中路举行2005年“科普一条街”活动,这标志着由自治区科技厅、自治区党委宣传部、自治区科协联合主办的2005年科技活动全面展开。自治区党委、政府高度重视此次活动,自治区副主席吴英杰亲临宣传现场视察,并慰问了参加宣传活动的工作人员。区科技厅多吉次仁、仓怀兴、区党委宣传部邹文媛、区科协陈秀芳、刘莉、张恒绪等有关单位负责人陪同视察、吴英杰副主席依次视察了各个学会、协会、研究会的宣传点,每到一处,他都详细了解各个学会、协会、研究会的工作情况,勉励科技工作者进一步发扬老西藏精神,依靠科技进步,无分发挥自身优势,培育支柱产业,不断推动我区经济发展和社会进步。每年的“科普一条街”活动都成为拉萨繁华路段的一个亮点,令年更是吸引了七万多人次的目光。记者看到,从拉萨市北京中路赛康百货至邮政局段,来来往往的群众纷纷驻足在各个宣传点,认真观看宣传展板,主动索取各类科普材料并向宣传人员咨询各种疑难问题。在藏医院、自治区第一医院等宣传点,医务人员义务为群众验血、量体温,为群众免费发放药品。在气象学会、水利学套、畜牧兽医学会等宣传点,宣传人员热情地向群众介绍各种科普知识和科技成果。据了解
