施颖洲先生所译《世界诗选》已于1999年4月由辽宁教育出版社出版,这是我国文学界和翻译界值得庆幸的一件盛事。施颖洲先生是蜚声海内外的菲律宾华人翻译名家。他从事诗歌翻译凡六十年,前三十年致力于把外国诗歌译成汉语,后三十年致力于把中国诗词译成英文。他把一生中最宝贵的光阴和精力,都奉献给了诗歌翻译这一崇高而又艰苦的事业。他的译诗集在海峡两岸相继出版,在亚太地区广为流传,享有盛誉。
The “World Poetry Selection” translated by Mr. Shi Yingzhou was published by Liaoning Education Publishing House in April 1999. This is a memorable event for the literary and translation circles in our country. Mr. Shi is the renowned Chinese interpreter in Philippines at home and abroad. He has been engaged in poetry translation for 60 years. His first 30 years devoted himself to translating foreign poetry into Chinese, and after 30 years he devoted himself to translating Chinese poetry into English. He devoted the most precious time and energy in his life to the noble and arduous career of poetry translation. His translation poetry has been published in both sides of the Taiwan Strait, widely circulated and reputable in the Asia Pacific region.
