It is no accident that South Africa has become the most persistent colonial and racist fortress remaining in today’s world. People want to understand it today, to know it yesterday. The “white man” written by the famous West German journalist and author Hen Yenek is a book that helps people to understand the history of South Africa. When it was serialized in the 1976 Illustrated “Star” in West Germany, it had aroused strong repercussions. “The White Master” describes the vicissitudes of South Africa from the invasion of Dutch settlers in 1652 to the mid-1970s. The story begins with the establishment of a small fleet of dhows of Dutch dhows to establish a colony in southern Africa. Using literary language and reporter’s handwriting, the author peels off the origins and historical layers of the clashes between black and white colonialists in South Africa and truly demonstrates that the masters have become slaves.
