The Yellow-fluvial region in eastern Henan is one of the main ecological types of summer maize in the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain. In recent years, the content of available potassium in soil plowed down obviously in this area, decreasing from about 150ppm in the second national soil survey (early 1980s) to about 90ppm.
