Since the reform and opening up, especially in the 10 years since the beginning of the 21st century, with the rapid development of higher education in China, profound changes have taken place in the reform and development of higher art schools. In this process of change, art academies and schools all over the country are actively thinking about the direction and pattern of the development of art education in China and thinking about how to adapt themselves to such issues as social economy and cultural development. The principals forums held by the previous Central Academy of Fine Arts, the China Academy of Art, the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts and the Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts have conducted extensive discussions and exchanges with them. This year, the draft of the draft for the “Outline of the National Medium and Long-term Education Reform and Development Plan” has been put forward. The “Outline” has analyzed the outstanding problems and contradictions in our country’s education in the new stage.
