同志们: 非常高兴有机会来到青海西宁,出席西北学会联席会、青海省二○○一年统计科学研讨会暨青海省统计学会六届二次理事会会议。这是西北统计工作者、统计学者贯彻实施西部大开发战略、落实中国统计学会第六次全国代表大会会议精神的一次重要聚会。我相信,这次会议的顺利召开,将成为新世纪西北地区及青海统计科学发展的新起点,为统计学会工作注入新的活力。我谨代表中国统计学会对会议的召开表示热烈的祝贺!在此,我讲点意见,与各位共勉。一、认真学习江泽民同志七一重要讲话。贯彻落实中国统计学会第六次全国代表大会会议精神今年七月一日,江泽民同志在庆祝中国共产党成立八十周年纪念大会上发表了重要讲话。这篇讲话,全面回顾总结了八十年党领导中国革命和建设所取得的巨大成就,系统阐述了“三个代表”重要思想的科学内涵,深刻回答了新的历史条件下加强和改进党的建设需要解决的重大问题,进一步指明了党在新世纪的历史任务和奋斗目标,是一篇马克思主义的纲领性文献,是共产党人面向新世纪的豪迈宣言,对于推进有中国特色
Comrades: We are very pleased to have the opportunity to come to Xining, Qinghai, to attend the Northwest Society Joint Conference, Qinghai Province in 2001 Statistical Science Symposium and Qinghai Statistical Society of the Second Session of the Sixth Council. This is an important gathering of statistics workers and statisticians in northwest China for implementing the strategy of developing the west and implementing the spirit of the Sixth National Congress of the Chinese Statistical Society. I believe that the smooth convening of this conference will be a new starting point for the development of statistical science in the northwest region and Qinghai in the new century and will inject new vitality into the work of the Statistical Institute. On behalf of the China Statistical Society, I would like to extend my warm congratulation on the convening of the conference. Here, I will give some advice and share my encouragement with you. First, conscientiously study Comrade Jiang Zemin’s important speech on July 1. On July 1 this year, Comrade Jiang Zemin delivered an important speech at the commemorative meeting celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party. This speech comprehensively reviews and summarizes the tremendous achievements made by the party in its leadership of the Chinese revolution and construction in 1980s, systematically expounds the scientific connotation of the important thinking of the ’Three Represents,’ and profoundly answers the questions of strengthening and improving under the new historical conditions It is a Marxist programmatic document, a heroic declaration for the new century for Communists and a guideline for pushing forward the development of the Party with Chinese characteristics
