小说《库娜图》是澳大利亚第一部以土著女孩为主人公,描写该土著女孩与白人牧场主之间的爱情故事的一部小说。《库娜图》的作者凯瑟琳·苏珊娜·普理查德是澳大利亚杰出的女作家,曾两次荣获诺贝尔文学奖提名。作为一名非激进的、忠诚的共产主义者,其作品高度关注社会底层人民的疾苦,同时也关注生态环境的变化。作为一名多产的作家,普理查德成为二十世纪上半叶澳大利亚文坛的一位重要人物。她的小说《库娜图》是一部颇具影响力的作品。本论文以生态批评理论为基础,结合上世纪初期澳大利亚土著文化的背景知识,对《库娜图》进行分析和探究,力图揭示小说中所蕴含的深刻的生态意识,并力求在全球生态环境日渐下降的今天召唤人们的环境保护意识,倡导人们从生态环保的角度来思考人与人的生存环境。
The novel Kuna Natu is the first novel in Australia to use indigenous girls as its main character to describe the love story between the indigenous girl and the white rancher. Catherine Suzanne Prychard, the author of Kootenau, is a prominent Australian woman writer who has twice been nominated for the Nobel Prize for literature. As a non-radical and loyal communist, his work pays close attention to the sufferings of the people in the bottom of society and also pays attention to the changes in the ecological environment. As a prolific writer, Prichard became an important figure in Australian literature during the first half of the twentieth century. Her novel “Kurtu” is an influential work. Based on the theory of ecocriticism and combining with the background knowledge of Australian indigenous culture in the early 20th century, this paper analyzes and probes into “Kurtuatu” in an effort to reveal the profound ecological awareness contained in the novel and to seek a more and more ecological environment in the world Declining today calls for people’s awareness of environmental protection, and advocates people from the perspective of ecological environment to think about the living environment of people.
