甲午战后,西方土壤学知识开始系统传入中国,美国土壤学家富兰克林·金是其中一位非常重要的人物。他是中国第一本美国土壤学译著《农务土质论》的作者,还于1910年抵达中国考察农业,并根据此次行程中的所见所闻著成《四千年农夫》一书,在西方农学界产生了很大影响。本文考察了他的生平,分析了《农务土质论》的文本内容、翻译背景及特点,梳理了他在中国之行中所获得的中国传统土壤肥料学知识,以揭示他在中西土壤学知识交流过程中所扮演的重要角色。
After the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, knowledge of Western soil science began to be systematically introduced into China. Franklin King, a soil scientist from the United States, was one of the most important figures. He was the author of the first translation of Soil Science in China from the United States, and arrived in China in 1910 to study agriculture. According to what he saw on this trip, he became the author of “The Four Million Years of Farmer” , Had a great influence on the western agronomy. This article examines his life, analyzes the textual content, translation background and characteristics of the theory of agricultural soil and soil, combs the Chinese traditional knowledge of soil and fertilizer obtained during his visit to China to reveal his knowledge of soil science in China and the West Communication plays an important role.
