第二语言习得研究是近年来应用语言学界的一个新注意点。这里的第二语言习得在英语中有人用second language learning,有人用 second languageacquisition。second language 在此指的就是 for-eign language,不象在 TEFL 和 TESL 中那样有所区分。learning 与 acquisition 指的也是一回事,并不是两种不同的获取语言的方式。用 R.Ellis的话来说,第二语言习得就是“在自然的或有指导的情况下通过有意识学习或无意识吸收掌握母语以外另一种语言的过程”(1985:P.6)。这一领域的研究近年来在国外是相当活跃的,国内似乎还不大注
Second language acquisition research is a new focus of applied linguistics in recent years. Second language acquisition here is used in English for second language learning, some for second language acquisition.
