The table below shows the short-run primary aluminum production by country up to 1982. In short, in 1979, the world’s aluminum production increased slightly (2%) over 1978. The previous year’s output was mainly affected by the three-month strike by Canadian aluminum company Canadian Aluminum Electrolysis Plant, which lost about 200,000 tons of primary aluminum. In the next three years, the world’s aluminum production should rise about 25% from 11.9 million tons estimated in 1979. The main output will come from the following aluminum electrolysis plants currently under construction or under construction in the following countries. These countries are: Canada, Pakistan
