Qi Fuda, a famous space technology expert, is known as one of the “Aerospace 18 Warriors”. He was born in April 1933 in Jin County, Liaoning Province. He graduated from the Aircraft Department of Beijing Aeronautical Institute in 1957 and served successively as the deputy director of the Research Institute of the Fifth Department of Defense. Deputy director of Division 501 Research Institute of the Science and Technology Commission, deputy director of 529 Factory, deputy director of 501 Ministry of Aviation, vice president of the Fifth Ministry of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the fifth president of the Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics; currently serves as Deputy Scientific and Technological Committee of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation
