在乐府诗歌这个艺术苑囿里,产生过许多风韵独具的古代女子形象。无论是汉代乐府中美丽聪颖、智斗使君的秦罗敷,忠于爱情,以死抗争的刘兰芝,魏晋乐府中手刃仇雠的秦女休,孝道刚烈的秋胡妻,还是北朝民歌中代父从军的木兰,吴声、西曲中一往情深的碧玉、纯洁无瑕的青溪小姑、身世凄幽的苏小小,都已成为古典文学画廊中明丽芬芳的奇葩。堪与这些艺术形象相比的,还有两位名叫莫愁的女子。然而,乐府两莫愁的故事在重掩叠卷的历史幔帐中,已变得纷纭散乱、扑朔迷离了。
