刘洪波先生的《“样板”思维》一文(见《瞭望》第36期),提出一个不算大也不算小的问题。说不算小,因为他指出这种“样板”思维不止是围绕着“样板戏”产生的,也不限于文艺界。确乎如此。在特定时期由穿“样板服”,吃“样板饭”的“样板团”在江青麾下搞出来的“样板戏”,首先是在指导思想上强调其“样板性”,然后以“样板舆论”评价其“样板”地位,总之,通过行政命令和政治压力“大树特树”,只许说好,不许说坏,以至不许说句二话,否则就是“反对样板戏”,“反对样板戏就是反对‘旗手’,就是反对……”罪在不赦。这类“树样板”,与所谓“树立对立面”,乃是一枚金币的正反两面:
