环形激光陀螺在光学速率传感器中是唯一实用在惯性导航系统中的光学陀螺。如果用于捷联惯导系统,可以从根本上提高精度。所以,预计它将占领导航及制导控制陀螺的主流。光纤陀螺,由于采用将光源置于相干光路之外的无源结构,所以不存在上述环形激光陀螺所不足的低角速度的非线性问题。为达实用水平,各国都在全力开发,预计占领陀螺主流地位尚需一定时间。随着有关材料的开发,到21世纪其优越性可能超过静电陀螺。
Ring laser gyroscopes are the only optical gyros that are used in inertial navigation systems in optical velocity sensors. If used for strapdown inertial navigation system, can fundamentally improve the accuracy. Therefore, it is expected that it will occupy the mainstream navigation and guidance control gyro. FOGs, because of the passive structure that places the light source outside of the coherent optical path, do not suffer from the non-linearity of low angular velocities that the ring laser gyroscopes lack. With the development of related materials, its superiority may exceed that of the electrostatic gyroscope in the 21st century.
