A new macrocyclic compound has been synthesized by condensation of pyridine-1-oxide-2,6-dialdehyde with diethylenetria-mine. The self-assemly behaviours were studied by X-ray diffraction. The results show that the self-assembly were controlled by intermolecular hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking effects.
