The value chain is a general term for a series of economic activities carried out by enterprises to create value for interest groups such as customers. The process of creating value for an enterprise can be broken down into design, production, marketing, delivery, and interrelated economic activities that are complementary to the product, or so-called value-added activities, and the sum of which constitutes the value chain.
